OMG! I bought some Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail the other day–it took me back to the days of the gypsy brewing Jeppe and reminded me just how great the cat is at crafting beer. After finding out the liquor store clerk was clueless about Evil Twin, I was inspired to tell the story here.
Evil Twin Brewing is known for its innovative and experimental approach to brewing. Founded by Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø in 2010, Evil Twin quickly gained a reputation for producing unique and flavorful beers that push the boundaries of traditional brewing techniques.
Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, a native of Denmark, began his brewing career as a homebrewer and later worked as a brewer for various craft breweries in Denmark and the United States. He founded Evil Twin in 2010, initially as a gypsy brewery, meaning that he would rent space and equipment from other breweries to produce his beers.
In its early years, Evil Twin gained a following for its creative and experimental beers, which often featured unusual ingredients and techniques. Some of the brewery’s most popular beers include the “Even More Jesus” imperial stout, the “Imperial Biscotti Break” coffee stout, and the “Sour Bikini” sour ale.
In 2016, Evil Twin opened its own production facility, a 9,000 square foot brewery and taproom in Queens, New York. The brewery features a state-of-the-art brewing system and a taproom where visitors can sample Evil Twin’s latest creations. In addition to its flagship beers, the brewery also produces a rotating selection of seasonal and limited-release beers.
Evil Twin has also collaborated with other breweries and beer industry professionals to create unique and innovative beers. Some notable collaborations include “Even More Jesus” brewed with Westbrook Brewing Co., “Imperial Biscotti Break” brewed with Amager Bryghus, and “Modern IPA” brewed with Jester King Brewery.
Today, Evil Twin continues to push the boundaries of brewing with its experimental and creative approach to beer-making. The brewery’s beers can be found in specialty beer shops and bars throughout the United States and in several other countries around the world. Evil Twin also maintains a strong online presence, with an active social media following and a popular online store where fans can purchase the brewery’s beers and merchandise.
In recent years, Evil Twin has expanded its offerings beyond beer to include spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. In 2020, the brewery launched a line of canned cocktails under the “Evil Twin Spirits” brand, featuring unique and innovative flavors like “Cosmico” and “Mojito.” The brewery has also produced a line of non-alcoholic “Soda Pop” beverages, which come in flavors like “Root Beer” and “Cola.”
Overall, Evil Twin Brewing has established itself as a leading innovator in the craft beer industry, with a reputation for producing bold, creative, and delicious beers. As the brewery continues to grow and expand its offerings, fans of craft beer and experimental brewing techniques can look forward to exciting new creations from Evil Twin in the years to come.
